Hollywood Week Part 1

Finally the dreaded auditions are over! And Hollywood week is here!!! Here's my recap of the episode~~

It starts off with Ryan montaging bla bla bla and telling us how this round will work like we didn't know XD and of course introducing the brand new judge, Ellen DeGeneres!

First off is Katie Stevens, one of my favorites from the auditions after her amazing "At Last" audition. Of course they have to flashback on the whole Alzheimer grandma story yawnnn. This time, she sings "For Once In My Life" and it was pretty good. Not amazing though.

Antonio aka Skiiboski is up next. He keeps telling us his stupid name (in flashback at least). He's pretty funny when talking to the judges. He sings "Ain't Too Proud To Beg". He's one of the person that surprised me during the audition round because I didn't expect that he can sing, but he actually can. This time not so good though. Ellen's attempt to be humorous about the leopard thing, not working for me.

The judges deliberates, bunch of unknowns along with Katie Stevens made it! Skiiboski is gone. He confronted the judges, and the confrontation is funny too.

After the break, montages on Simon's mean and Ellen's "trying to sugarcoat" comments. Andrew Garcia sings "Straight Up" by Paula Abdul XD. Sounds like a weird song choice but it was AMAZING. I loved it. The judges loved it too of course (At least Kara did). And Ellen finally did something i find funny... Paula's "up-in-the-air" clap lol.

Vanessa Wolfe is next. They flashback on her journey from a small town to Hollywood. Honestly, I have no idea why she's here. I thought her audition was awful. Maybe I don't like her voice. It's annoying. She sings...errr... I have no idea what song and it proved to me again how horrible she is. GOD AWFUL. Pitchy like mad.


The judges deliberates, Andrew Garcia makes it! Vanessa Wolfe is out, where she belongs. Then, montages of people that are eliminated with Rascal Flatt's "What Hurts The Most".

After the break, Cornelius Edwards (torn pants guy), Megan Wright (down syndrome brothers girl) and Amadeo Dirocco (guy with big family) are eliminated.

Janell Wheeler is up with her guitar. I don't know what she sings but it was very good. And she doesn't even know she's that good. I like her.

A bunch on unknowns and Bosa Mora are then eliminated.

Haeley Vaughn, also with her guitar delivers a pretty good rendition of a song I don't know about lol.

Mary Powers sings "Sober" by Pink. Very very good. Brilliant and powerful voice.

Both Haeley and Mary made it to the next round.

Then, they showed Ellen playing with the contestants and it was so not funny. In the end, all of them are through. Todrick Hall, Charity Vance, Ashley Rodriguez all made it through to the next round. Day 1 ends.

Day 2 began with Jay Stone, the beat boxer and singer. Never did like him back in his gimmicky audition.

Lilly Scott sings "Lullaby something.." with her guitar. She has a very unique voice. I like her. Her looks are unique too.

Jay Stone is cut and Lilly is in.

Michael Lynch gets a call from his wife that she's in labor. And he said he's the next American Idol because his wife is in labor... What? And that he will pummel everybody who disagree... yawnnn. He's way over his head but he's pretty good so I try to look past all that. He's in. I think I saw Michael Castro with him. Don't like him too.

Tim Burton is next with his guitar singing "Come Back To Me" by David Cook. I thought he was pretty pitchy at the beginning. It was okay. Nothing to jump up and down about.

Justin Williams (cancer guy) sings "Fly Me To The Moon" with a keyboard. If you told me he would not make it past Hollywood, I wouldn't really believe it. After that, I wouldn't be surprised. Such a simple song, I think he pushed it a little too far. He tried to do too much too early.

He is indeed out. Tim however, is in. The sisters with blue and yellow outfits back in the auditions are gone too. So are Erika Rhodes (Barney Girl) and Paige something (asthma girl).

Back on stage, it's Maddy Curtis. Of course they flashback on her brothers yawnnnn. She started to sing and it was not good. She's not really that good in her auditions anyways.

Casey James (take shirt off guy). Didn't like him back in the auditions because I thought he was pretty mediocre and shouldn't have made it past auditions. However, he proved that he deserves to be in Hollywood after delivering a pretty good performance.

Maddy is out and Casey is in.

Didi Benami sings "Terrified" by Kara with her guitar. Excellent performance. Brilliants falsettos. But I hated her from her audition because of the whole crying thing that her friend passed away... 4 years ago... YAWNNNNNNN.


The last contestant of Hollywood Round 1 is Crystal Bowersox singing "Natural Woman". WOW! Absolutely PHENOMENAL. Everything about it is soooo good. My favorite performance this episode. That falsetto, wow. Awesome. Speechless.

They both made it through. It would be crime if they are not.

Then montages on all those who made it.

Group Round is next!!! Drama, Drama, Drama XD. Can't wait.
